Ms. Jeanne Filiault
Position: Principal and teacher of the kindergarten class (in the Sapphire Room)
Jeanne grew up in North Adams, Massachusetts and attended Kindergarten through eighth grade at the Notre Dame School there. Jeanne is a certified school principal. She graduated from Buxton School, a private high school in Williamstown. Jeanne earned a BS degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in mathematics; and a BS in Elementary Education from North Adams State College, received her masters degree in education from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. Jeanne is a Highly Qualified Teacher in Elementary Education and Reading and Language Arts Specialist K-8. She holds a K-6 Elementary Education license in Massachusetts and Vermont, with a Vermont K-8 endorsement in Reading and Language Arts. Her husband (Dennis) passed away in 2003. They have three sons (Chad, Justin, and Tyler) who are grown and have left the nest. She continues to live in North Adams with her German Shepherd (Madison), dachshund (Dewey), and two cats (Willybean and Doodlebug). Jeanne enjoys teaching, swimming, and four-wheeling.

Mrs. Angela Delsordo:
Position: Teacher of Pre-K students (ages 3-4)
Angela lives in Richmond with her husband, Nick, daughter Paige, and son Jonathon (both college students). She graduated from the University of Central Connecticut and has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from Lesley College. She enjoys reading, gourmet cooking, and old classical movies.

Ms. Brigette Comeau:
Position: Teacher of first and second grades (in the Ruby Room)
Brigette grew up in New Hampshire and is a recent graduate from Saint Michael’s College. She has a degree in Elementary Education and Religious Studies. She is excited to be a member of the faculty here in Hancock. She enjoys chocolate and playing with her kittens, Victor and Lola.

Ms. Laurie Burdick

Ms. Valerie Kohn
Positions: Teacher of the fifth and sixth grades (in the Emerald Room) and Art Instructor (Art is taught on various days of the week).
Valerie lives in Windsor with sons Ethan and Ben when they’re visiting home. She has a B.A. in English Literature from Oswego State and a B.F.A. in printmaking from the University of Massachusetts. Reading, music, art, and being in the great outdoors are favorite activities of hers.

The following staff members are specialists who come to the school to teach various subjects on different days of the week:
Mrs. Carolyn Markowski.
Position: music education instructor. (Mrs. Markowski teaches students in grades pre-K through 6 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.)
Carolyn, who received her Master’s Degree from Lesley College, teaches classroom music, choral music, and piano lessons for all the Hancock School students. She enjoys gardening, making floral arrangements, attending concerts and plays, and writing. She was also on the Board of Directors and a performing member of the Berkshire Lyric Theatre.

Mrs. Roberta Corey.
Position: Physical Education Instructor (Mrs. Roberta Corey teaches students in grades K through 6 on Mondays.)

Ms. Kathy Keenan
Position: School Nurse
Kathy grew up in Long Island, NY and got her BS in Nursing at Fitchburg State College. She and her husband, John, lived in Nashua, NH for 20 years before moving to Dalton, where she worked at CBRSD as a district and substitute nurse. She has five children; Annie, Elizabeth, Tricia, Michael, and Colleen, a son-in-law Jeremy, a cute little grandson, Jack, and a future son-in-law, Mike. She is expecting her second grandchild in November. In her free time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, reading, going for walks and doing calligraphy.

Hancock School also provides Speech, Medical, and Counseling Services to the students. Mr. Douglas Wentworth is the school counselor.
Our volunteer librarian is Joan Blair. She works in our library on Monday mornings.
